1. When the pump output pressure reaches the set value of the DR valve, the valve drives the pump's swashplate to rapidly reduce its tilt angle, causing the pump displacement to drop to a "minimum value to compensate for leakage," entering a "high-pressure standby" state;

2. It limits the pump's maximum output pressure to prevent pump damage due to overpressure, essentially acting as a "built-in safety valve" for the pump.
