- Clean the piston rod: Wipe the exposed piston rod surface with a clean, soft cloth (lint-free or cotton) to remove mud, dust, crop residue, and oil. Never use steel wool, sandpaper, or other hard objects, as this will scratch the chrome plating (scratches will cause rapid damage to the seals and oil leaks).
- Check for leaks: Observe the cylinder, joints, and seals for oil seepage. Address any small leaks promptly to prevent them from escalating.
- Full stroke cycle: After operation, allow the hydraulic cylinder to fully extend and retract several times (unloaded or lightly loaded) to expel air and evenly lubricate the seals, preventing localized dry friction or gas scorching.
- Check connections: Inspect the lugs, forks, pins, etc., for looseness or wear. Tighten or apply grease as needed.
